Awareness against Human Trafficking

Rural Bengal is home to a large number of marginalized and underprivileged communities. Human trafficking is a common issue here. Seth Bagan Mahila Sangha is dedicated to combating human trafficking through community awareness and education. We do village visits, and school visits to raise awareness within rural communities and students, especially adolescents and collaborate with local administration. We impart knowledge about bodily changes in the adolescent period, human and child trafficking and its impact on life and society. We also work to rescue victims and rehabilitate them into mainstream society. We also educate them about various government schemes and their benefits for support. With a focus on minimizing trafficking rates, we strive to empower individuals and communities to recognize and combat this issue.

Bijoyini

Bijoyini is our central unit dedicated to fostering leadership skills. Our members, volunteers, and rescued girls actively participate, forming the foundation of our organization. Our primary objective is to cultivate leadership abilities in girls and empower women and to create a supportive environment where every individual can thrive and contribute positively to their communities, fostering a brighter future for all.

Legal Support

We at Seth Bagan Mahila Sangha offer legal support to women through a dedicated team of experts, committed to aiding those facing adversity within or outside their families. Our aim is to secure justice for issues such as domestic violence, child marriage, abuse, and trafficking. By providing legal assistance, we empower women to navigate legal processes and advocate for their rights, fostering a safer and more equitable society for all.

Support for Migrant Labour

In response to rising unemployment in West Bengal, migrant labor numbers are increasing, facing hardships in their workplace and life. We offer support to migrant laborers, many lacking necessary documents, by providing information on government schemes aimed at their upliftment. Through education and advocacy, we strive to empower migrants, ensuring they have access to resources and opportunities for a better livelihood.

Shakti Project

“Shakti,” our vital project, focuses on rehabilitating individuals rescued by our members. Collaborating with local administration, we conduct rescue operations and help those rescued ones to restore the joy in their lives. Shakti aims to reintegrate them into mainstream society, fostering self-dependency and self-reliance through opportunities for sustainable livelihoods. By providing avenues for earning and fulfillment, we empower them to embark on a path towards a brighter future.

Alor Disha  SHG

Our Alor Disha SHG at Basirhat Block 2 recently achieved a milestone, winning a prize of 1 lakh rupees. Operated by our survivor group, it empowers underprivileged women through training in income-generating activities like spice making and handicrafts. To promote self-dependence, we provide comprehensive support, fostering entrepreneurship among them. With a focus on empowerment, we aim to create opportunities for sustainable livelihoods and a brighter future.

Case Sourcing and Management

Case Sourcing and Management is very important part in our mission. Utilizing the CIT tool, we detect and source new cases, managing them effectively. Through regular follow-ups with rescued individuals, we assess their needs and track progress. Our ultimate goal is to eradicate human trafficking and create a society devoid of gender discrimination, fostering a world where girls can thrive and flourish.
